Hugo's Chocolates Pty Ltd is seeking to fill a full-time position for a skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer. This role is critical for the continued growth and success of the business.
The primary purpose of this position is to ensure the efficient and effective operation of production machinery and equipment. The Mechanical Engineer will play a crucial role in maintaining, designing, and improving the manufacturing processes, thereby enhancing productivity, ensuring the highest quality standards, and reducing downtime.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field or Higher.
• At least Three years of full-time relevant work experience in a similar industry.
• Hands-on expertise with machinery maintenance, design, and process optimisation in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and practices
In this role your main responsibilities include:
• Designing and developing mechanical systems and machinery for chocolate production.
• Conducting regular maintenance and inspections to ensure machinery operates efficiently and safely.
• Troubleshooting mechanical failures and implementing effective solutions promptly.
• Collaborating with the production team to improve manufacturing processes and reduce waste.
• Ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
• Managing and coordinating with external contractors for specialized repairs and upgrades.
• Documenting and maintaining detailed records of maintenance activities and machinery performance.
• Performing routine and preventive maintenance on all production machinery to prevent breakdowns.
• Identifying and resolving mechanical issues quickly to minimize production downtime.
• Analysing current production processes and suggesting improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
• Ensuring all mechanical operations comply with industry safety standards and regulations.
• Work closely with stakeholders to assist in the design and development of mechanical and process systems
Other key skills and experience will include:
• Knowledge of safety standards and regulations related to machinery maintenance and operation.
• Excellent communication skills to work effectively with the production team, management, and external contractors.
• Strong understanding of engineering standards and compliance requirements
• Extensive experience in developing and reviewing engineering drawings, calculations and documentation.
• Technical competence in design requirements and process implementation
