Corador are looking to hire a full time reliable and organised cable technician in our workshop.
The right candidate will be able to interpret drawings, to install, maintain, and repair cable systems for mining applications.
Cable technicians are responsible for terminating and installing voice, data, gas monitoring and fibre optic cabling systems.
Duties will include building communications enclosures, terminating and installing cable systems and troubleshooting. Repairing communication units and testing.
To ensure success as a cable technician, you should have a strong knowledge of electrical systems, and cable technology. You should be able to work in cramped spaces, at heights, and interact with clients in a friendly and professional manner. Ultimately a top-notch cable technician will provide efficient, high-quality services to company specifications.

Job Description:
Salary: $74,000 plus superannuation

Qualifications & Experience:
Certificate III or certificate IV or equivalent plus 2 years of experience or 3 years’ experience in substitute of formal qualifications.
Drivers licence.


Cable Technician Responsibilities:
• Installing, maintaining, and repairing cable infrastructure.
• Performing maintenance on existing cabling systems.
• Testing newly terminated cables according to company specifications.
• Installing of fibre optics, and technology devices.
• Troubleshooting issues with the cable network.
• Installing of cable support structures such as j-hooks, cable racks, and innerduct.
• Installing, testing, and servicing overhead and underground wires and cables, as well as radio and mobile phone antennas.
• Ensuring all cables are neatly tied and bundled according to safety regulations.
• Completing paperwork such as timesheets, checklists, vehicle inspection reports, and service orders.

Cable Technician Requirements:
• Previous use of electrical equipment and test meters is a must.
• Previous work experience as a cable technician.
• Strong knowledge of mathematics, science, and electrical systems.
• Ability to install complex fibre optics to enclosures & fibre optic units.
• Ability to work in cramped spaces.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and fix problems that may arise.
• Ability to identify independent colours and learn colour codes.
• To ensure work is of the highest quality at all times.
• Valid driver's license.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.
