You will be able to implement improvement projects based on your observations and have highly developed skills to allow you to implement and coordinate the SWSLHD Drug Health Services Patient Safety and Patient Liaison Programs. You will be an adaptable person who has exceptional communication skills and problem solving skills as you will be the point of contact for the management of patient complaints. Complaints handling is an important part of the role and you will be comfortable taking calls from a range of stakeholders where you will use your negotiation skills to build quality relationships across the district.
Your analytical skills will ensure you can implement and evaluate policies and practices to work on continual improvement of quality care and patient safety across the district. Having a strong understanding of patient safety programs in line with the Ministry of Health Frameworks will assist you in remaining flexible in a complex and dynamic work environment.

What You'll be Doing
The primary purpose of this position is to lead service improvement and innovation initiatives across SWSLHD Drug Health Services to ensure the continuation of safe and high quality service provision.
This position is responsible for guiding the implementation of quality systems and accreditation within SWSLHD Drug Health Services; implementation of patient safety systems and promote a culture of safety across SWSLHD Drug Health Services; managing and coordinating timely delivery of responses to patient complaints, Reportable Incident Briefs (RIB), Root Cause Analyses (RCAs), Health Care Complaints Commission (HCCC) requests and implementation of RCA recommendations; and providing support to the SWSLHD Drug Health Services Executive Leadership Team with routine reporting on quality initiatives, policy management and clinical risk management.
This position will be based at Bolger Street, Campbelltown. This position reports to the General Manager, SWSLHD Drug Health Services.

1. Health related tertiary qualification or equivalent experience.
2. Experience leading or implementing patient safety programs in line with the Ministry of Health frameworks including management of the IIMS database, Root Cause Analysis and other clinical investigations.
3. Experience managing the complaints process, associated investigations and report writing.
4. Understanding of the principles of Continuous Quality Improvement and capacity to lead quality audits, practice and projects.
5. Demonstrated initiative and flexibility in a complex work and demanding work environment; and ability to contribute proactively.
6. Previous leadership experience with demonstrated project management skills and experience in the planning, implementation and evaluation of innovation within timeframes.
7. Demonstrated high level interpersonal and written and oral communication skills and experience working with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
8. Demonstrated knowledge of corporate and clinical risk management and associated WHS implications.
9. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
