Your Role
It is an exciting time to join our business as we continue along our journey of ongoing expansion, change, and transformation. Through continued growth we are currently searching for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Botany team at our ChlorAkali plant. This full-time role is responsible for leading mechanical maintenance at our Botany site and ensuring compliance with applicable internal and regulatory standards.

Your Responsibilities
Ensure your work activities, and those of your team, comply with the requirements set under the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its associated regulations as well as IXOM's SMS (Safety Management System).
Develop and maintain a motivated team that can safely deliver the maintenance strategies, including planned and unplanned maintenance with a view to continually improving efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and plant reliability, taking action that will prevent re-occurrence of failures.
Support your team to provide a professional level of customer service that meets the business' needs.
Manage critical plant and equipment to ensure safe operation and regulatory compliance.
Ensure your team develops, communicates, and executes maintenance plans.
Contribute to the development and execution of the mechanical maintenance budget.
Contribute to the development and execution of the sustenance capital plan, including the year ahead and 10-year plan.

Your Skills & Experience
Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
Proven leadership skills and experience managing a team to achieve goals. Mentoring and developing team members is a plus.
Hands-on experience in maintaining a continuous process plant within heavy industries like chemical, oil & gas, paper, and pulp.
A strong safety-first mindset and experience with safe work systems (permit to work, management of change, incident investigation, hazard studies, etc.).
Experience with mechanical design and modifications in an industrial setting.
Proven ability to work within a multidisciplinary, multi-level environment to achieve positive results.
Understanding of regulatory requirements related to MHF legislation.
Working knowledge of standards and codes of practice relevant to mechanical design and maintenance.
A proactive attitude and a self-motivated approach.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
