Our growing Sales and Marketing teams are located across Australia, Europe and the USA.

Position Overview

Based in Arno Bay, South Australia the Aquaculture Maintenance Engineer reports to the Hatchery Maintenance and Reliability Team Leader.

The position is responsible for performing general maintenance and repair work to the equipment and assets at Clean Seas Hatchery sites in line with aquaculture Industry best practice, regulatory requirements and the original equipment manufacturers guidelines.

The position also involves programming and diagnostics of automated PLC systems and troubleshooting at both the Arno Bay and Port Lincoln operations. Responsibilities include installation of instrumentation to engineering best practice to facilitate reliability and automation in all Hatchery production systems and their operation.

The salary range offered for this position is $73,200 - $80,000 per annum plus superannuation, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Duties & Key Responsibilities
• Root cause analysis of plant and system failures and provide
innovative solutions
• Complete defined scheduled maintenance and Preventative
Maintenance Programs
• Electrical control system installation, maintenance, commissioning
and troubleshooting
• Provide safe and reliable equipment across all functions of the
Hatchery site
• Coach Hatchery team members to better understand electrical and
mechanical systems and their impact on production and safety
• Working with and assisting outside contractors as required
• Read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, PID’s and PLC’s
Code
• Provide regular electrical engineering reports and drawings for
system design upgrades
• Contribute to project planning and delivery
• Upkeep of inventory database with MEX
• Ensure compliance with Clean Seas WHS policies and procedures

Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree Electrical Engineering
• Registered with Engineers Australia – desirable
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in similar positions
• Aquaculture or Fishing Industry experience – desirable
• Hands on mechanical problem-solving skills
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Mathematical and analytical skills
• Understanding mechanical and electrical engineering principles
• High level written and verbal skills
• Strong organisational skills and a demonstrated ability to
determine priorities, make independent decisions and meet tight
deadlines
• Strong influence and relationship / stakeholder management skills
