Leading engineering conglomerate is seeking a Telecommunications Supervisor Your new company
Based in the tropical QLD city of Townsville which boasts 300 days of sunshine per year, a leading engineering conglomerate is seeking a Telecommunications Supervisor to oversee the rollout of key telco infrastructure for a large scale defence project!
Your new role
Established several years ago in Sydney to service the engineering needs of both the private and public sectors, this organisation now boasts thousands of employees and dozens of offices across ANZ. Providing services across various disciplines such as the infrastructure, telecommunications and civil engineering fields (to name a few), they specialise in delivering projects for the mining, defence, and maritime sectors (amongst many more).
Having been awarded a large-scale project in Townsville, this organisation are now tasked with delivering key telecommunications capabilities for the defence sector throughout the region. Working in conjunction with both the ADF and specialised defence contractors, there are several milestones to hit to deliver this work.
As such, this organisation are they now seeking to expand their field-based engineering team. Reporting into the Engineering Manager, your new role as the Telecommunications Supervisor will see you manage the day to day running of their telecommunications construction team. From a personal perspective, you will provide team leadership and guidance, oversee rosters, manage hiring and resolve personnel conflict (should any arise). Not limited to just this, you will also ensure timelines are met, project milestones are delivered to a high standard, provide technical oversight, identify improvement opportunities, establish best technical frameworks, install new equipment, document faults, etc.

What you'll need to succeed
For this role you will need the following:
Australian Citizenship (and be able to pass a Defence Clearance Check)
Telecommunications and/or construction management experience
Personnel and team management
Stakeholder engagement
Experience delivering large scale projects within the defence sector advantageous
Technical telecommunications/electrical experience advantageous (AMCA cabling license, satellite deployments, etc)
Clear communication skills (written and oral)
Those outside of Australia will not be considered for this position
What you'll get in return
You will be offered an initial three month contract (with the view to go permanent) paying up to $55 per hour + super with a leading engineering conglomerate.
