Stewarts Engineering, a leading provider of high-quality engineering solutions, is seeking a skilled and experienced Spray Painter Sandblaster to join our dynamic team in Esperance. As a key player in our fabrication and finishing processes, you will contribute to the production of top-notch products while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.
Responsibilities:
1. Surface Preparation:
• Execute thorough surface preparation through sandblasting techniques, ensuring optimal adhesion for subsequent painting processes.
• Assess and select appropriate abrasives, equipment, and pressure settings for various materials and project requirements.
2. Paint Application:
• Apply primers, coatings, and finishes using various spray-painting methods to achieve a consistent and high-quality finish.
• Mix and match paint colors and textures according to project specifications and design requirements.
3. Quality Control:
• Conduct regular inspections of finished surfaces to ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and customer expectations.
• Make necessary adjustments to painting techniques and equipment to address any issues identified during inspections.
4. Equipment Maintenance:
• Perform routine maintenance on sandblasting and painting equipment to ensure proper functionality and longevity.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or defects promptly for timely repairs.
5. Safety Compliance:
• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while operating sandblasting and painting equipment.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment to minimize hazards and ensure the safety of yourself and team members.
6. Documentation:
• Keep accurate records of materials used, work performed, and any other relevant data.
• Provide input for the development of standard operating procedures related to the spray painting and sandblasting processes.
Qualifications:
• Suitable certification or relevant experience.
Experience:
• At least two years of experience in a similar environment.
• Knowledge of different types of paints, coatings, and surface preparation methods.
• Familiarity with various sandblasting equipment and techniques.
Skills:
• Ability to interpret project specifications, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Salary: $75k- $95k per year
