About the Role
You will use your knowledge and skills to support the geotechnical team in our Melbourne office, to deliver the company objectives and provide outstanding client satisfaction with integrity. You will report to the Geotechnical Manager and work with an enthusiastic, energetic and diverse team to exceed client’s expectations with a willingness to strive.
Duties and responsibilities are:
Assisting and preparing winning tenders and proposals.;
Planning and coordinating field investigations for a wide variety of medium to large scale residential / commercial / industrial / infrastructure projects;
Coordination and oversight of site inspection / testing / monitoring services for construction sites for a range of earthworks, pavements, deep excavation, building, road and rail projects;
Completion or direction of analysis and problem-solving using software such as Slope/W, WALLAP and CIRCLY to facilitate geotechnical and civil designs;
Writing technical memoranda, letters and reports to a high standard, as expected by our clients;
Business development, client development and management;
Mentoring of other geotechnical professionals within the geotechnical team.
About You
To be considered for this role, the successful applicant will:
Ideally between five years' professional experience as a Geotechnical Engineer / Engineering Geologist;
Achieved a Bachelor of Engineer (BE) or Bachelor Science (BSc) degree;
Practically minded and enjoy outdoor work;
Ability to work in a team-based environment;
Able to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients and contractors;
Proven problem solving and pattern recognition skills;
High level of computer and writing skills;
High commitment to safety; and
Hold a current Australian driver’s licence (Class C) and be able to drive manual vehicles.
