Project Overview

The Queensland Train Manufacturing Program is a multibillion project starting in 2023 with an estimated full train sets manufacturing and delivery by the end 2031. The project includes the design, construction and commissioning of: a new manufacturing facility in Torbanlea, 65 EMU train sets (390 cars) and a new maintenance facility in Ormeau in Queensland. The new train sets will be manufactured, tested and delivered from Torbanlea Manufacturing Facility. The state of art train design for safety, communications, security, accessibility, amenity and comfort for the passengers and rail operational staff will meet all specifications and latest standards requirements.

A combined local and overseas design engineering team will be integrating the train subsystems design and delivering the manufacturing documentation for the trains to be manufactured at Torbanlea Manufacturing Facility in cooperation with Fraser Coast and Queensland rolling stock equipment local suppliers. The local design team will be working with the overseas design team and local and overseas suppliers to assure the train sets design submissions, compliance, manufacturability, reliability, maintainability and safety for the train’s operational life of minimum 35 years.

Role Overview

Monitor and ensure Material Controller keeps up to date in terms of records for daily internal transactions
Keep records of external transactions
Generate weekly/monthly/quarterly reports for inventory from both transaction records
Set up guidelines to work with items that fall short of ‘minimum’ quantity to be kept in store
Initiate inventory and replenish processes with the suppliers and HQ
Liaise with suppliers/HQ for return dispatch and receiving shipments including NCRs, ECRs, other purchases, etc.
Coordinate with eaHeadquarters (HQ) and shipping agents/brokers to ensure smooth customs clearance and delivery of shipments
Key Responsibilities

Control and management of warranty materials and defective materials
Inventory in/out materials and management of AIS system as necessary
Purchase order of materials
Local and overseas shipment control – invoice, packing list
Reporting material status regularly stock
Other material related work as requested
Ensure parts and materials are delivered in a timely manner and expedite them when necessary
Organise information into correspondence or databases e.g. Stores management programs; accept transmittal documentation, update spreadsheets and issue materials
Overall onsite responsibility for ensuring that all accounts are signed off for payment, to ensure continuity of service from Vendors.
Prepare, assess and maintain project goods receival, stock control and requisition documents for the relevant project, ensuring completeness and accuracy
Work in accordance with Quality Assurance procedures, based on customer and ISO requirements
Examines materials, products, or work outputs for quality, accuracy, and completeness; responds quickly to correct quality problems
Qualifications, Experience and Skills Requirements

Relevant qualification in Logistics and Warehousing or experience
Working knowledge of records management best practices to comply with record-keeping obligations
Proficiency in using Excel/SAP and other MS Office applications
Demonstrated ability to work independently
Experience in rollingstock industry is desirable
