The Senior Technical Officer (PC2 Shared Lab Operations) has responsibility for the day-to-day operation and regulatory requirements of the PC2 laboratories. The position supervises the use of microscopy, imaging, and analytics equipment, supports cell and molecular biology projects, and trains research staff and students in PC2 lab procedures.
The Senior Technical Officer (PC2 Shared Lab Operations) is responsible for;
- Optimising the use and performance of PC2 lab equipment through coordination, calibration, and maintenance.
- Providing advanced technical assistance and maintaining cutting-edge skills in cell biology instrumental analysis.
- Ensuring correct operation of microscopy, imaging, and analytics equipment, including data management.
- Developing and delivering technical training, manage user authorisations, and maintain training records.
- Managing client usage, booking schedules, cost recovery, maintenance, and biosafety compliance in PC2 labs.
About you
To be successful in this position you will;
- Hold relevant postgraduate qualifications and/or extensive work experience in a relevant field.
- Experienced in coordinating, calibrating, and maintaining PC2 lab equipment.
- Capable of providing advanced technical support for cell biology research.
- Proficient in the operation and management of instrumentation including microscopy, imaging and analytics equipment, with a strong background in training and maintenance protocols.
- You will demonstrate strong organisational skills, adept at managing multiple tasks simultaneously, with a keen attention to detail.

This is a 1 year fixed-term, full-time position and will be primarily based at the Griffith University Nathan campus. As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other campus locations.

Salary Range
The full time equivalent base salary will be HEW Level 8 range $108,764 - $122,356 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $127,254 - $143,157 per annum.
