We are looking for a Financial Accountant to join a leading multinational Pharmaceutical company based in Sydney's CBD. This role supports the Financial Controller to take responsibility for all aspects of the financial management of the Australian legal entity, along with the statutory reporting and tax accounting.
The responsibilities of the Financial Accountant include the following:
Coordinate month end close process for Australian entity - general ledger management
Maintain the integrity of the GL by ensuring all appropriate accruals, lease accounting, payroll journals are recorded into the Accounting System
Prepare Statutory Financial Statements and assist and support end-of-year external audit
Ownership of Australia entity Sales & Inventory management - monitor financial inventory accuracy and liaise with FP&A team
Ensure sales transactions and Inventory modules in SAP - This includes complex rebate management
Work with the Internal Tax Team and External provider on the Company Income Tax return and allied duties for Australia
Tax compliance for Australia and New Zealand such as GST, FBT, WHT, and Payroll returns
Develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders
The successful Financial Accountant will have the following experience:
3-5 years financial accounting experience in a multinational company - Pharma industry experience is desirable
Chartered Accountant or CPA certification preferred (or equivalent)
Appreciation of US GAAP and IFRS standard whilst having corporate tax experience
Strong communication skills to effectively convey financial information and insights to both financial and non-financial stakeholders
