As the Purchasing Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that materials are available to meet planned production needs and that products are in stock to fulfil sales orders. Your responsibilities will include placing orders for stocked and intended products based on re-order reports, aligning with master data, and maintaining inventory levels within budgeted limits.
Key Responsibilities
Review and maintain inventory levels to align with planned production schedules
Utilise the ERP system to open and manage purchase orders
Oversee the complete purchasing process for both domestic and international suppliers
Maintain and update the shipping register on a daily basis
Action re-order reports according to the specified schedule
Identify and review cost-saving opportunities, recording and analysing them accordingly
Assist in sourcing new suppliers and materials
Continuously identify efficiency's and process improvements for ongoing improvement
Selection Criteria
Experience within FMCG Manufacturing desirable but not essential, a knowledge of chemistry is highly advantageous
Demonstrated previous experience in purchasing and inventory control
Experience with ERP systems and strong computer literary skills essential, Pronto knowledge an advantage
Strong analytic skills with a high attention to accuracy and detail
Great written & verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Confidence to problem solve using own initiative
