Job Description
Qualified Metal Fabricators – ANZSCO 322311 – Light & Heavy.
BVA Metal Fabrication is currently seeking qualified trade persons for full-time positions in Light – Sheet-Metal Fabrication and Heavy-Boiler-Maker Welding at our busy workshop in Picton, WA. If you have the necessary skills and experience in these areas, we encourage you to apply and join our team. Duties associated with these positions may include, but are not limited to:

1. Light – Sheetmetal Fabrication:
o Cutting, bending, and shaping sheet metal using various tools and machinery.
o Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
o Operating and maintaining fabrication equipment such as punch and shears, press brakes, and guillotines.
o Mixture of workshop fabrication, site installs, modifications and maintenance.
o Welding and assembling components.
o Stainless steel and aluminium fabrication and welding.
o Inspecting finished products for quality and accuracy.

2. Heavy – Boilermaker welder:
o Fabricating and welding heavy metal structures and components.
o Reading and interpreting detailed drawings and specifications.
o Using welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, and stick welding to AS/NZS 1665:2004 & AS/NZS 3992
o Mixture of workshop fabrication, site installs, modifications and maintenance.
o Operating heavy machinery and tools including rollers, grinders and drills.
o Conducting quality control checks and ensuring adherence to safety standards.

These duties highlight the technical skills, precision, and attention to detail required for each role within BVA Metal Fabrication's workshop environment.

To be considered for any roles, it's essential to meet the following requirements:
• Established track record of dependable work performance
• Valid WA Driver's License
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude
• Team-oriented with excellent collaboration skills
• Certified Forklift Operator

Your reporting line will be to:
• Ben Everitt – Workshop/Fabrication Manager
• John Carnaby – Estimating/Ops Manager

Additional certifications and qualifications would be advantageous, given the diverse nature of our work.
These are permanent positions for suitable candidates following a 3-month probationary period. The Workshop Crew works full-time hours Monday to Friday with overtime and occasional site work. Our Shift Crew follows an 8-day on, 6-day off schedule from Tuesday to Tuesday, which may include site assignments.

Our starting Hourly Rate for the right candidate is $48.00p/hr, plus 12% Superannuation, overtime pay, and allowances for site work and tools.
