Newmac Holdings Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to join their seed cleaning business located in the south-eastern Wheatbelt on a full-time basis. This busy role requires an operator to work in a small team, loading and unloading trucks, utilities and trailers, and stacking and retrieving items in storage sheds and yards. The successful applicant will be required to move a diverse range of bulk materials, containers, palletised goods, cartons and bales. Specific tasks include:
• operating controls to align forklifts and raise and lower forks to stack and unstack items in storage sheds, yards and operating plant
• checking and preparing despatch and delivery documentation
• transporting goods to designated areas in operating plant, storage sheds and yard
• wrapping and preparing goods for despatch
• ensuring goods are marked appropriately and stored in the correct areas so that they can be easily located for use or despatch
• monitoring equipment operation visually
• inspecting and controlling equipment to identify wear and damage
• servicing and performing minor repairs and adjustments to forklifts
• applying strict safety standards including chemical handling standards
The position is located in a small regional town 400km from Perth. The successful applicant will need to be independent and take responsibility in this remote context. We are looking for a person with a minimum of two years of forklift operation experience, preferably working with a range of goods in diverse settings; an ability to work collaboratively with other team members to meet tight deadlines; a good communicator and record-keeper, with a commitment to health and safety.
Salary $90,000
