One of our clients, Ozzeal Pty Ltd (T/A 8T8 Technologies), is looking for a Computer Networks and Systems Engineer. The purpose of the position of a Computer Networks and Systems Engineer is to design, implement, and maintain the computer networks and systems within an organization. This role involves ensuring the efficient and secure functioning of an organization's network infrastructure, including hardware, software, and connectivity components. They will play a crucial role in optimizing network performance, supporting the organization's IT infrastructure, and enabling seamless communication and data exchange among various systems and users.
Position: Computer Network and Systems Engineer
Location: 57 Faraday Road, Croydon South, VIC 3136
Salary Range: $73k - $80k + superannuation
As a Computer Network and Systems Engineer you will be responsible for:
1. Plan, develop, deploy, test and optimize network and system services;
2. Taking responsibility for configuration management and overall operational readiness of network infrastructure and systems;
3. Examine, formulate, interpret, and assess intricate system design and architectural specifications, along with data models and diagrams, during the creation, setup, and integration of computer systems.
4. Conducts research, examines, assesses, and oversees network infrastructure to guarantee networks are configured for peak operational performance.
5. Evaluates and suggests enhancements for network operations and the integration of hardware, software, communication, and operating systems.
6. Fault-finding services for network problems;
What you'll need to succeed
1. A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, computer engineering, or a related field.
2. You must have over 2 years of professional working experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining computer networks and systems.
3. Certifications from reputable organizations such as Cisco (CCNA, CCNP), CompTIA (Network+, Security+), or similar certifications that demonstrate expertise in networking and systems engineering, are not mandatory, but essential.
4. Proficiency in various networking technologies and protocols such as TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, routing, and switching. Familiarity with network hardware, firewalls, and security systems is essential.
5. Knowledge of programming languages like Python, Java, or scripting languages to automate tasks and enhance network functionalities.
6. Familiarity with operating systems like Windows, Linux, or Unix. Proficiency in system administration tasks and troubleshooting is important.
7. Ability to analyze complex technical issues, design efficient solutions, and troubleshoot network problems effectively.
8. Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders, and write documentation.
9. The ability to learn and adapt to new technologies, trends, and industry developments is crucial.
