The Opportunity
Come and discover the opportunity to join our Welded Products team at our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility as an Electrical Maintenance Officer. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.
BlueScope's welded products section produces welded beams and columns manufactured from XLERPLATE steel which are renowned for their size and strength. Due to their ability to withstand large loads they are used in critical projects such as bridges, high-rise buildings, shopping centres, car parks, stadiums and mining infrastructure.
Focussing on the maintenance of electrical equipment at the welded products section, you will assist in managing unique manufacturing assets and drive continuous improvements as apart of the asset team.
This role is a day-work position, Monday to Friday, with a monthly rostered day off.
What Will You Do?
You will maintain and improve plant condition, ensuring safety standards are never compromised. You will:
- provide technical knowledge and a root cause analysis approach to all equipment problems using problem solving processes to maintain asset performance
- day to day management of plant performance and plan, organise & oversee the safe execution of maintenance activities
- inspect and understand the condition of all plant and equipment seek ways to improve performance and input to maintenance strategies.
- support improvements in plant capability, upgrades & product quality systems across the welded products department
More About You
You are a self-motivated individual who has a high level of initiative and energy. You will have:
- electrical trade qualifications; or electrical engineering qualifications with practical experience
- an Electrical licence
- technical experience on manufacturing equipment within a maintenance function
- problem solving and reliability improvement experience
- a commitment to the safety and wellbeing of yourself and others
- effective communication and interpersonal skills
