The role:
An opportunity has become available for experienced nurses to join our Pre-admission area of the Continuum of Care department at St Vincent?s Private Hospital Sydney (SVPHS).
Pre-admission nurses are team members that undertake pre-operative assessment of people receiving care associated with a planned admission. The pre-admission nurse?s role includes assessment/screening, triage and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team in planning patient care before an elective procedure.
At SVPHS, the preadmission of the patients are managed via virtual and digital technology platforms. Part of this role is confirming pre-procedure diagnostic testing is completed and results are available to the perioperative team, building rapport and trust with the patient through communication that is culturally sensitive, easy to understand, effective and meets the needs of patient, carers and families and providing the patient with pre-procedure information and education.
