WSB is currently looking for an Agricultural Aviation Manager (ANZSCO Code: 231199) to join its Precision Agriculture team which manages various brands including Ag leader, Topcon, and XAG drone.

POSITION SUMMARY
Agricultural Aviation Manager reports to the Precision Ag Manager.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Flight Operations
Designated as either second in command or the pilot-in-command for aeroplanes chartered by the company for air freight or private use.
Operate the supported Agricultural Drone brand involving private and/or commercial operations but not limited to agriculture. Operations may involve aerial photography, survey and recreation.
Ensure safe operations of the remotely piloted aircraft (RPA) by complying with applicable regulatory requirements, supporting documents such as the AIP and Air Services of Australia.
Instruction
Teach clients, apprentices and students the theory and practical skills in accordance to the Pilot’s Operating Handbook of Remotely Piloted Aircrafts and Unmanned Ground Vehicles.
Instruct proper maintenance procedures, inspection, repairs, assembly, and disassembly.
Travel across Australia for regular engagement with key stakeholders in the Agricultural Aviation industry to learn and/or share new ideas, best practices, and current trends.
Logistics and Freight
Ensure timely and organized parts delivery from main headquarters or overseas.
Participate in parts management and allocation.
Assist in logistics for WSB’s main business such as express delivery to clients which may involve land or air freight.
Regulatory
Ensure that operations are conducted in compliance with the Civil Aviation Act and Regulations.
Complete up-to-date reference library of operational documents under the class of operations conducted such as development of checklists, procedures relating to flight operations.
Be the point of contact between CASA and the company for notifications on changes in the manual, revisions on regulatory and developments under the authority of the ReOC.
Stakeholder engagement
Reach out to local farmers, government agencies and individuals to provide the most appropriate and up-to-date advice on smart farming utilizing aviation technology.
Advise aviation training programs for young professionals and encourage locals to get involved in the emerging agricultural aviation industry.
Flight and Hardware Demo
Attending field days, shows and festivals to introduce technical specifications by demonstrating flights.
Support local businesses by demonstrating technical specs through field visits that are suitable to local conditions.
Supervision
Conduct periodic visits to company branches by land or by air to assess their performance. Visits are conducted with the direct manager, general manager, director or all other staff.
Hardware and Maintenance Support
Take the lead in providing maintenance support for clients (hardware, electronics, propulsion, and software). Regular visits and maintaining strong relationships with clients are the building blocks of efficient and effective maintenance support.
Endorse repaired and inspected drones for air worthiness. Keep records of maintenance and job orders.
Research
Stay-up to date on new innovations in aviation or non-aviation technology that will greatly help the local farmers of Australia.
Travel across Australia to meet with local groups, government agencies, individuals to collect data, create and promote innovations in agriculture using aviation and engineering technologies.
Communicate with the manufacturers based onshore and/or overseas to contribute to product improvements.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Educational level of an Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Bachelor degree or higher.
ICAO PPL, CPL, ATP or ability to obtain/convert to CASA Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL-A)
CASA RePL (Remote Pilot Licence) with 150kg endorsement, XAG P100 series type rating preferred but not required
Holds an Aeronautical Radio Operator Certificate (AROC)
Holds an Australian Driver’s Licence
Pass company medical – drug and alcohol test
ESSENTIAL (but not required)
Holds an existing Accreditation or eligibility to obtain AQF ChemCERT.
Ability to obtain and hold an Aviation Security Identification Card or (AVID)
Holds CASA Remotely Piloted Aircraft Operators Certificate (ReOC)
