Position Overview:

The Senior Artist II role is a crucial position within our creative team, requiring a masterful
understanding of art fundamentals, excellent technical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively
to bring our projects to life. The Senior Artist 1 will play a key role in creating visually stunning and
optimized assets for our projects and will contribute to maintaining the highest quality standards in
the industry.


Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

? Takes a leadership role in defining form, silhouette, color, and overall finish to achieve project
aesthetic goals.
? Shapes or reshapes workflows for optimal asset creation across all disciplines.
? Demonstrates expertise in shaders, lighting, atmospherics, and post-processing for optimal
in-game asset realization.
? Ensures a complete understanding and implementation of industry-standard software within
the project.
? Possesses a complete grasp of optimization practices and establishes communication and
always practices at all production stages.
? Identifies and communicates visual issues, providing foresight and proposing solutions with a
focus on feasibility.
? Collaborates with other departments to ensure technical considerations align with visual
designs.
? Accountable for maintaining a high standard of visual output and guiding others in the
process.
? Provides a diverse range of visual references, demonstrating a holistic and granular
understanding of their purpose.
? Presents ideas through mood boards, text, verbal communication, and slides with a master
level of clarity.
? Autonomously executes and guides others in ideation processes.
? Demonstrates master-level understanding of extended art fundamentals and applies them
effectively in game development.
? Exhibits mastery in at least one sub-discipline skill with proficient skill levels in others.
? Understands the nuances of stylized versus photorealistic art, articulating specific differences
and improving upon given designs.
? Responsible for task breakdowns, estimations, acceptance criteria, and structured planning
for features.
? Manages dependencies and prioritization within features, providing support within the
project.
? Effectively handles risk, change, and uncertainty within the team during routine and
high-pressure situations.
? Accountable for meeting deadlines, tracking time on task, and managing deviations from
estimations.
? Owns a feature/pipeline, serving as the go-to person for all art-related aspects in the area.
? Identifies and communicates problems, seeking assistance when needed.

? Clearly communicates concepts both written and verbally to peers, stakeholders, studio
execs, external partners, and clients.
? Effectively documents projects, pipelines, and workflows for comprehension by artists and
non-artists.
? Promotes effective documentation practices across the team.
? Actively engages in problem-solving, aids others in overcoming blockers, and encourages
collaboration across teams.
? Builds strong relationships among team members and across the company.
? Facilitates open discussions, ensuring all voices are heard and guiding discussions towards
decisions.
? Stays informed about current and emerging art trends and technology.
? Identifies areas for self-improvement and actively seeks mentorship.
? Mentors less experienced team members and provides comprehensive paint overs.
? Participates in interviews for candidates and occasionally leads stage 1 interviews with team
management.
