This entry level position would suit a young person eager to start their career in a creative and dynamic industry.
Reporting to the Print Room Manager, in this position you will learn to:
Operate machinery and tools to finish jobs (eg guillotines, stitcher, folder, laminator, binder, creaser)
Work on your own or as part of a team
Work to tight deadlines to complete jobs
Set up jobs based on customer requirements
Understand the workflow of jobs to work efficiently
Solve problems as part of your work
Learn new technologies that apply to your job
Read and interpret job sheets or briefs to plan your work
Check information to make sure you complete the work correctly
Use calculations in your work
Communicate with graphic designers and trade suppliers when planning your work if required.
Use quality management skills to keep improving your standard of
Skills and attributes of the successful applicant will include:
A mathematical/mechanical aptitude
A strong focus on quality and customer service
A high level of attention to detail
A positive, can-do attitude
Good time-management skills
Basic computer skills
Good safety awareness
An excellent work ethic
A willingness to learn and be open to constructive feedback
Please note:
This is a hands-on role and works within a manufacturing environment.
A trades certification can provide you with a long and rewarding career but will require a high level of commitment to complete.
Whilst you will be allocated time for theory during business hours, there is an expectation you will also make an equal contribution to training in your personal time.
