Full Time Panel Beater
SALARY Range of $73,000 to $76,000 + SUPERANNUATION
Duties
• Conducting a thorough inspection of vehicles to assess the extent of damage, both visible and hidden.
• Developing a repair plan based on the assessment, determining which panels need repair or replacement, and estimating the time and cost involved.
• Disassemble and reassemble vehicle body parts and panels. Replacing with new or second-hand panels when necessary.
• Using appropriate tools and techniques to repair damaged vehicle panels. This may involve straightening bent metal, hammering, welding, cutting, and fitting replacement panels when necessary.
• Apply paintless dent removal technics to recoverable dents preventing spray painting.
• Preparing surfaces for painting by sanding, grinding, and filling imperfections to create a smooth surface for paint application.
• Applying primer, basecoat, and clearcoat to repaired areas to match the vehicle's original colour and finish.
• Conducting quality checks throughout the repair process to ensure that work meets industry standards and customer expectations. This includes inspecting for paint imperfections, ensuring proper panel alignment, and verifying structural integrity.
• Liaising with customers in regard to the services that they require.
Experience
• Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as Panel Beater
• Expertise in working with hail damage and restorations
• Experience in reassembling vehicle body parts and accessories
• Experience in Spray painting
• Requires full driver’s license and always be available to travel for on road calls/pickups
