ABI Coating Specialists is hiring a Heavy Transport Spray Painter.
We are looking for experienced finishing painters with polyurethane 2 pac experience, to work at our clean, modern, well equipped Industrial Coatings workshop located in the lifestyle friendly Gold Coast region. You must be experienced in painting using a pressure pot. We will train the right person to work with new challenging painting techniques in a safe and well supported environment. Defence coating and or Aerospace experience would be an advantage but not essential.
We are looking for long term employees with a positive and practical can do attitude. If you are reliable, willing and able to work with minimal supervision and have the required skills and experience we are keen to talk to you.
Responsibilities
Preparing the required equipment, tools and materials for painting of Heavy Industrial, Automotive Vehicles, parts and accessories.
Ensure Quality Control for execution in conformance with Manufacturers Specifications.
Mix paint and other materials to prepare the right colour or texture for Heavy Industrial and Automotive Vehicles
Paint surfaces according to manufacturers instructions.
Take and adhere to all health and safety precautions
Carry our abrasive blasting and painting works as necessary.
Manage/Supervise abrasive blasting and painting works.
Carry our paint inspections for work done by other employees and complete all relevant QA documentation.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Spray painter – at 5 years of experience.
Excellent knowledge of painting material and how to select, mix and apply them.
Solid knowledge of Industrial painting techniques.
Aptitude in using appropriate tools (spray gun, electro static, Graco pump, pressure pot, etc.).
Good basic math skills.
Conscientious with great attention to detail.
Trade Certificate or equivalent preferred

The position is full-time 40 hours per week – typically Monday to Friday 6:30am to 2:30pm. Some Saturday morning work maybe required occasionally, but we like to maintain a good work life balance.
Hourly rate $35 - $40 plus Superannuation offered inline with skills.
