Brunel is looking for Boilermaker , and have vacancies around Western Australia, in metro and regionally.
PURPOSE
The purpose of this position is to apply the skills, competency and experience of aqualified Mobile Plant Boilermaker to a range of tasks as allocated by the supervisorsincluding welding fabrication services, shutdown services, MARC contractor shiftservices and general maintenance of mobile equipment.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Work Productivity
• Adhere to set break intervals
• Ability to meet schedules & delivery times;
• Plan work to ensure all equipment, Tooling & consumables are accounted for prior tocommencing tasks;
• Complete time sheets ensuring job number and task identification is accurate for timereporting;
Quality
• Understand Inspection Test Plans (ITP);
• Understand Work Orders, Project Gantts & General Scope of works;
• Advise supervisor when work has reached hold points for inspection;
• All completed welds must comply with relevant qualified weld procedures provided.To include machine set
up, weld profile, inter pass temperatures and preheat requirements;
• Record welder identification number on all areas welded;
• Ensure pre, intermediate & post work photos are taken when requested by Supervisor;
• Ensure all Fabrication work that is completed is within allowable tolerances.
Equipment
• Ensure minimum Brunel personal tooling requirements are adhered to;
• Pre-Start checks are mandatory on all operating equipment prior to commencing;
• Report any equipment problems immediately to a Supervisor & follow correct tagging procedure;
• Report any equipment shortfalls & additional requirements to Brunel Manager;
• Ensure all equipment requiring fuel has been replenished after job completion prior to leaving site.
Safety
• Attend prestart meetings prior to start of shift;
• Adhering to the Safety Management System, by ensuring company compliance throughout all work activities;
• Work area is always kept clean & tidy;
• Fill out relevant site paperwork I.E JHA, CCC, Take 5 etc. To client’s requirements;
• Complete min 1 safe checks per day;
• Follow Safe work procedures (SWP);
• Perform workshop inspections as allocated;
•Report hazards near misses and incidents immediately to your supervisor/manager.
QUALIFICATIONS - LICENSES, CERTIFICATES $ COMPETENCIES
Essential Qualifications, Licences and VOC
• Trade Certification – Certificate III in Engineering Heavy Fabrication
• AS1554.5 – AS1554.4 welding test in 3G & 4G positions – MMAW & FCAW
• Minimum “MR’ class drivers’ licence;
• Forklift Licence
• EWP Licence
• Intermediate Riggers Licence
• Doging Licence
• Working at Heights Licence
• Confined spaces Licence
Competencies
• Pre-employment weld testing;
• Pre-employment Air Arc Gouge testing
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
• Technical knowledge of Mobile Plant repair process
• Understanding of Mobile equipment isolation points
• Experience & knowledge in the use of generator welders & associated wire feeders
• Experience & knowledge of setup & operation of Thermal Arc Lancing process
• Experience & knowledge of setup & use of inner shield & outer shield welding process
• Experience within the Engineering and Resource sector.
