The Role
Due to our healthy pipeline of projects, we are looking to hire an experienced Lead/Senior Civil/Structural Engineer with 10 years’ experience to complement our highly skilled design and engineering team at our Burswood office, close to the Perth CBD.
Reporting to the Civil, Structural and Primary Manager, the Lead/Senior Civil/Structural Engineer will be responsible for but not limited to:
- Prepare and review detailed civil and structural designs (foundations, structures, equipment supports, access roads etc) for transmission substations.
- Execute structural analyses and calculations using industry-standard software to confirm compliance with standards and relevant factors.
- Prepare technical queries and carry out any vendor data reviews.
- Develop methods and procedures to improve efficiency of the discipline stream.
- Collaborate closely with other disciplines teams, to ensure the successful integration of civil and structural designs.
- Prepare and review technical documentation, reports, and specifications related to civil and structural design activities.
- Provide design guidance to Civil / Structural Designers in the preparation of design drawings.
- Review, check and approve all engineering deliverables produced by the discipline stream (QA/QC).
- Participate in engineering, design, and construction review processes and provide technical expertise and guidance as required.
- Develop methods and best practices in substation civil and structural design to drive innovation and efficiency within the organization.
- Position may require travel to project sites and/or client premises.
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering or a related field
- Proven experience (5+ years) in civil and structural design, specifically in the transmission or power utility sector.
- Sound knowledge of relevant Australian standards, codes, and regulations
- Proficiency in civil/structural analysis and design software’s
- Demonstrated experience in the role with a focus on design engineering and optimisation.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work within specified deadlines.
- Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organisation and in all forms.
- Mentor, coach and develop junior engineers.
- CPEng, NER, or equivalent professional registrations (desirable).
Candidates must be able to bring a flexible mindset, challenge traditional thinking and be prepared to work outside of their comfort zone.
