The Role
The position is for a full time role with an annual salary around $95,000.00 depending on experience, plus superannuation.
The Responsibilities
Some tasks may include
Determining, implementing, and monitoring purchasing, storage, and distribution strategies to optimize logistics operations
Establishing and enforcing policies and plans that govern purchasing, storage, and distribution activities
Preparing and implementing plans to maintain required stock levels at minimum cost, ensuring availability without overstocking
Negotiating contracts with suppliers to meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements, fostering strong supplier relationships
Monitoring and reviewing storage and inventory systems to meet supply requirements and control stock levels effectively
Operating recording systems to track all movements of supplies and finished goods, ensuring accurate documentation and inventory management
Ensuring re-ordering and re-stocking at optimal times to prevent stockouts and minimize carrying costs
Liaising with other departments and customers concerning requirements for outward goods and associated forwarding transportation
Overseeing the recording of purchase, storage, and distribution transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance
Directing staff activities, including assigning tasks and monitoring performance to ensure efficient operations
Analysing and managing logistics costs to maintain budgetary control and improve profitability
Ensuring that all supply chain activities adhere to quality standards, minimizing errors and discrepancies
Ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and organizational policies related to supply and distribution operations
Developing and utilizing performance metrics to evaluate and improve supply chain efficiency and effectiveness
The Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field
Minimum of two years of experience in supply chain management, logistics, or distribution, preferably in a multi-modal logistics environment
Minimum of two years of experience in a managerial role within the same field
Minimum of two years proficiency in inventory management software and ERP systems
Minimum of two years experience in negotiating contracts with suppliers, focusing on cost, quality, and delivery terms
Strong leadership and team management skills to direct and monitor staff performance
Proficiency in project management techniques and tools
Ability to identify, analyse, and resolve supply chain issues effectively
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting
Ability to adapt to changing demands and work in a fast-paced environment
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work in a team environment and independently when required
