Barker Trailers, a well stablished trailer manufacturing company, is currently looking to hire a qualified Design Engineer to join their team in Woodend, Victoria 3442.
The successful candidate will need to undertake and possess:
- Design and preparation of construction layouts, detailed workshop assembly drawings and technical documentation.
- Preliminary mechanical engineering computations/calculations, checking of calculations performed by others.
- Maintenance of the engineering schedule.
- Ensuring that the Engineering design package QA process is followed and documented against each job.
- Providing PBS assessors and certifiers with information and data required to complete their work on time.
- Provide technical support and guidance for the other team members as required.
- Design analysis using company FEA package.
Skills and Abilities:
- At least Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Knowledge and hands-on
- Experience on AutoCAD, Inventor and ANSYS
- Good understanding of Australian design rules related to TD vehicles
- Thorough understanding of PBS design assessment and vehicle certification processes
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar position
Salary range is $90,000-$105,000pa commensurate with experience
