Silverberg Investments is currently looking for an experienced Civil Engineer to join its team. This position presents an opportunity for career growth and increased responsibility, where you will play a key role in delivering various construction projects.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in planning, designing, and overseeing the construction and maintenance of building structures and infrastructure projects. This role requires a strong understanding of engineering principles, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
Minimum Requirements:
Relevant degree, at least 2 years’ experience in multi-discipline project delivery, utilising a variety of civil design packages and excellent English communication skills.
What you will be responsible for:
• Design, plan, and manage civil engineering projects, including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.
• Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to determine project viability.
• Prepare detailed engineering designs, drawings, and specifications.
• Managing and directing the construction, operations, or maintenance activities at project site
• Organising and directing site labour and the delivery of construction materials, plant and equipment
• Ensuring conformance to design specifications and safety or sanitation standards
• Studying engineering drawings and specifications to estimate total costs
• Analyzing structural systems for both static and dynamic loads
• Preparing detailed cost plans and estimates as tools to assist in budgetary control
• Preparing technical deliverables including proposals, reports and construction documentation
• Determining construction methods, materials and quality standards, and drafting and interpreting specifications, drawings, plans, construction methods and procedures
• Monitoring changes to designs, assessing effects on cost, and measuring, valuing and negotiating variations to designs
• Liaising with internal and external clients
• Tender and contract management
• Working with other team members, specialists from other disciplines and mentoring junior staff
• Directing engineering activities, ensuring compliance with environmental, safety, or other governmental regulations
Skills, experience and attributes:
• At least 2 years' relevant experience
• The ability to manage multiple projects and goals at the same time, whilst working autonomously
• Experience working closely with builders and architects (essential)
• Good construction and building knowledge
• Knowledge of, and experience designing to, relevant civil codes and standards
• Competent IT skills using Microsoft Word, Excel and Project
Your role will be to provide engineering design, calculations, and project administration across several building development projects. You will have a ‘can do’ attitude and possess strong communication skills to adequately communicate with your team, managers as well as personnel and stakeholders associated with the projects.
