Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Civil Engineering Draftsperson to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed sketches, charts, plans, and designs for various fencing and related projects. This role involves both office-based drafting work and fieldwork, ensuring the quality and compliance of our installations and custom solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Drafting and Design:
o Prepare detailed sketches, charts, tabulations, plans, and designs for fencing projects.
o Develop custom gate and fencing designs that meet client specifications using Australian steel-based products.
• Fieldwork and Testing:
o Perform and direct fieldwork, including site inspections and surveys, to gather data and ensure project specifications are met.
o Conduct laboratory testing of construction materials to ensure quality and compliance with industry standards.
• Data Collection and Analysis:
o Collect and analyse data related to construction materials and soil conditions.
o Carry out necessary computations to support project design and execution.
• Cost Estimation and Compliance:
o Estimate material costs for projects, ensuring that all works are completed within budget and meet regulatory requirements.
o Inspect fencing works to ensure adherence to specifications, regulations, and contract provisions.
• Maintenance and Supervision:
o Organize and supervise maintenance and repair work for existing installations.
o Ensure all field and laboratory activities are conducted safely and efficiently.
Qualifications:
• At least a Diploma or a minimum of three years of experience.
• At least two years of experience proven experience in civil engineering drafting and design, preferably within the fencing or construction industry in a similar environment.
• Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant drafting tools.
• Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, materials, and construction methods.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret technical instructions and apply appropriate procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
