Located in the heart of Glenferrie Road, Hawthorn De Barcelona offers a true European experience through the creation of Spanish food. They are an established and popular restaurant in the area with a reputation for excellent food of high quality.
They are now looking for an experienced Restaurant Manager to join their business.
The Role
You will be tasked with leading and managing the various staff as well as the overall operations of the restaurant. This is a full time role with an annual salary between $74,000 to $75,000, depending on experience plus superannuation.
Responsibilities
Organize and manage the operations of the restaurant to provide dining In, take away orders, in-house events, and catering services.
Plan menus in consultation with Chef and owner.
Arrange the purchasing and pricing of goods according to budget.
Maintain records of stock levels and purchases.
Ensure dining facilities comply with health regulations and are clean, functional, and of suitable appearance.
Liaise with customers to assess their satisfaction with meals and service.
Take reservations, greet guests and assist in taking orders
Supervise all in-house aspects of the restaurant, from decorations to menu selection.
Manage different areas of restaurant operations such as customer relations, vendor relations and inventory control.
Specialize in training and motivating new staff regarding their work and responsibilities.
Supervise the overall cash flow to meet weekly expenditures.
Maintain accounting books, employee payroll and sales summaries of the restaurant.
Help in promoting business through social interaction in community events.
Plan and organize special functions like Mother's Day, Valentine's Day specials, etc.
Estimate the daily food consumption and place orders with suppliers accordingly.
Communicate with merchants regarding supplies on a regular basis.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must have:
Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Restaurant Manager within an operation of a similar profile is essential
Relevant or equivalent qualifications in hospitality management
Must have at least 2 years of menu planning experience including cost control and planning menu to budget
Proven experience working with POS systems and cash handling at a store level
Demonstrated and verifiable prior experience
Excellent people and time management skills - ability to work with international staff
Excellence in delivering quality customer service and customer satisfaction ratings including brand standards
Full availability to work on weekends
Excellent presentation and communication skills
Ability to balance high volume periods and peak service times
