The Client:

K Partners Pty Ltd is a professional accounting and tax consulting agency. Their business includes a solid client base made up of a diverse mix of individuals, sole proprietors as well as SME businesses. They offer a full business advisory including Taxation, Accounting, Tax planning and consulting services.

They now seek an experienced Accountant to join their team based out of their office in Melbourne.


The Role:

This is for a full-time role with an annual salary between $72,000 to $75,000 plus superannuation.

The Responsibilities:

Preparation of accounts, tax returns, Business Activity Statements, FBT, and other compliance matters for individuals, companies, partnerships, and trusts.

Planning, preparation, and execution of financial statements with appropriate note disclosures

Examine operating costs and organisation’s income and expenditure.

Liaising with the ATO, financial institutions and other third-parties on behalf of the clients for various matters such as fund management arrangements, seeking extension for lodgement, STP set ups, providing financial information & general enquiries.

Providing financial and taxation advice on business structures, Income Tax, CGT, Div 7a, and FBT

Conducting tax interviews with clients & preparing tax returns for Individual and Business: Companies, Partnerships, Sole proprietorships, and Trusts

Liaising with clients and assisting them to meet their accounting and tax obligations.

Providing solutions to clients on current business and financial conditions

Providing accounting services including month end close, processing relevant journals, balance sheet, intercompany processing, revenue analysis and statutory accounts production.

Working closely with clients in different industries and sectors as well as colleagues to provide exceptional clients services.

Assist clients with relevant ASIC reports & statutory tax related compliances

Contribute towards process improvement and implementation and ensure client confidentiality and privacy

The Requirements:

At least a Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited university.

Must have at least 2 years of relevant Australian experience within a commercial accountant capacity

Must have at least 2 years’ experience working with the MYOB, QuickBooks and Xero accounting software systems

Must have at least 2 years’ intermediate knowledge and experience with individual and company income tax, GST, trust accounting processes

Must have at least 2 years’ experience dealing tax advice including corporate tax, personal tax effectiveness and indirect taxation

Demonstrated commercial acumen to understand the dynamics of a complex evolving industry

Demonstrated experience in complex, integrated, computerised accounting systems

Demonstrated ability to methodically analyse sets of data

Detail oriented, ability to multitask, work independently and prioritise tasks

Ability to organise, plan and manage, together with the capacity to prioritise for self and coordinate input from others to deliver timely results

Excellent communication skills with ability to multitask and meet deadlines
