UX/UI Designer

Healthengine

Healthengine company logo

This is your opportunity to join our team of forward-thinking, change-making individuals. Operating at the intersection of health and tech, you'll help us shape the future of healthcare.

Our Mission

Healthengine’s mission is to improve access to healthcare by helping Australians find and connect with all primary care providers. We strive to achieve this through Australia’s leading healthcare marketplace, bringing together over 4 million active Australians, and more than 10 thousand practitioners that are powered by our technology - and growing.

We’re all patients, right? So, it’s easy to get behind a mission that seeks to improve the healthcare experience for all Australians.

The Gig

As a UX/UI Designer, you’ll shape the visual direction of our products, gathering insights and turning them into innovative, transformative user experiences that guide our users through their healthcare journey in engaging and intuitive ways. You will have oversight of our design system and work with other designers to ensure consistency of brand and experience throughout our consumer and provider products.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with product managers, engineers, marketers, and key business stakeholders to reconcile user, business, and development needs.
  • Gather and interpret user insights, feedback, and behavioural information to inform product needs and design.
  • Facilitate and participate in design thinking workshops
  • Organise and facilitate user testing to synthesise qualitative and quantitative research to inform and validate design decisions.
  • Solve design problems during conceptual design and throughout ongoing product development.
  • Move through sketching, wireframing, prototyping, and UI design with an emphasis on an iterative, collaborative design process.
  • Take wireframes and concept designs through to finalised UI design to deliver delightful, functional interfaces for new products.
  • Help to embed and drive the brand identity throughout our products.
  • Ensure the maintenance and improvement of our design language.
  • Ship smart and meaningful products which delight our customers and partners.
  • Continuous improvement to better understand the healthcare industry and healthcare problems faced by our users.

About You

You're the kind of person who takes accountability in a fast-paced, autonomous and flexible environment. Fast may be your default (like us!) but you never, ever compromise on what’s important, willing to take a steady, more informed approach when it comes to maintaining the trust of our team and customers. You handle change like a pro, and continuous improvement is a way of life. You are not afraid to speak up and share your thoughts respectfully, with the intention of making positive change. You take initiative and drive your own learning journey without waiting for someone to point you in the right direction. And ultimately, you care: about people, health and innovation.

Experience you’ll bring:

  • 3+ years of design experience with a folio of work demonstrating a track record of delivering end-to-end UX and UI design.
  • Previous experience building and managing design systems in Figma and collaborating with Engineering on its implementation through component libraries such as MUI.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver cross-platform design, including demonstrated experience designing for mobile with strong understanding of Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines & Google’s Material Design Guidelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate UX design into highly-polished, detailed, and considered interface design.
  • Good understanding and application of UX and UI principles and methodologies and an understanding of modern UI conventions and patterns.
  • Good problem solving capabilities to find creative solutions to difficult or complex design issues.
  • Ability to influence and communicate and collaborate with other stakeholders involved in product design and development.
