Position Description
As a Civil Engineer , you are responsible for:
Primary Accountabilities:
- Determining construction methods, materials and quality standards, and drafting and interpreting specifications, drawings, plans, construction methods and procedures;
- Organising and directing site labour and the delivery of construction materials, plant and equipment, and establishing detailed programs for the coordination of site activities;
- Studying architectural and engineering drawings and specifications to estimate total costs, and preparing detailed cost plans and estimates as tools to assist in budgetary control;
- Monitoring changes to designs, assessing effects on cost, and measuring, valuing and negotiating variations to designs;
- Analysing structural systems for both static and dynamic loads;
- Interpreting architectural / engineered truss drawings;
- Ensuring all enquiries/concerns are followed up within required time frames;
- Coordinating with site team by providing necessary details for site installation work;
- Visiting the site occasionally for reliable and accurate site measure or co-ordination;
- Evaluating the details in the construction drawings, product drawings and client requirements as per C&M;
- Identifying the deficiencies in the documents and coordinate with relevant parties to make the necessary changes;
- Checking the documents as per BCA regulation, compliance regulations;
- Communication with engineers, architects, and contractors regarding project details prior to and during construction;
- Perform any other duties, responsibilities or tasks as assigned.
Essential:
- Bachelor degree or higher.
- 2-3 years experience in similar position.
- Proficient in DataBuild and project management software.
- Knowledge of Auto Cad.
- Knowledge of BCA & R-Codes, OHS and building regulation.
- Strong team player and positive can-do attitude.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Knowledge in completing construction documentation and tender documentation.
- A demonstrated ability to meet timeframes.
