Programmed have an exciting opportunity in Rockhampton for a Financial Services Trainee to work with the project costing team. You will contribute to the commercial sustainability of our client, through the provision of advice, expertise and operational delivery of day to day costing/financial, procurement and project administration services and information whilst ensuring the service provided is timely, effective and responsive to management requirements. You will organise and/or assist with the ordering, purchasing and supply of project requirements to allow infrastructure delivery related work to proceed in a timely manner.
Throughout the traineeship you will be hosted with a major Civil Construction company, RoadTek whom provide excellent mentoring, training and encourages team work and innovation within their business. RoadTek provides transport infrastructure solutions throughout Queensland as a commercial business within the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR).
Upon completion of the traineeship you will have obtained a nationally recognised qualification - Certificate III in Financial Services. Throughout the 24 month traineeship you will receive training with a high level of support from qualified supervisors and mentors. As a trainee you will be provided with:
Support and mentoring to assist with successfully completing a Certificate III in Financial Services qualification
24 months competency based traineeship

Fulltime contract with paid Annual Leave, Sick Leave and Public Holiday

During the Traineeship you will gain skills and knowledge in Procurement and Project Administration Services and provide support to the Project Manager and team across a full range of duties which include:
Undertake financial and timesheet transactions in relation to daily costing, revenue claims in projects and work orders
Review & update project costing and finalise end of month claims
Requisition and monitor the supply of goods and services. Monitor Inventory purchases and apportionment of costs and assist with stocktaking as required
Provide support, advice and expertise on costing and financial administration matters to project/team members
Prepare and check employee timesheets for validity of allowances and entitlements. Investigate and resolve employee payroll discrepancies
Ensure good governance is maintained in all financial and administration responsibilities
Acts in accordance with the QPS legislative framework and Code of Conduct. Models ethical behaviour and consistently applies those ethical standards to self and others
Commitment to the Workplace Health & Safety Policy of achieving a Zero Harm workplace Note: There may be a small amount of manual handing when archiving and filing
We are seeking applicants to have the following qualities:
Desire to work in accounting and finance
Have an interest and flair for numbers and finance
Experience in Data entry with a keen eye for detail
Experience in accounting and finance but not mandatory
Reside locally in Townsville
Driver's license and reliable transport essential
Ability to undertake a reasonable amount of travel throughout the state
Demonstrated experience working in an administration position where you had to multitask
Flexible and willing to adapt to business needs
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Courteous phone manner
Excellent communication skills both written and oral
Experience in Excel, Word, Outlook and data entry desirable
OHS White construction card or ability to obtain one prior to position commencing
Effective team player with experience working in a team environment
Initiative and motivation are essential in this position
