Our client is a global service provider to the mining and cement industries. Due to an internal promotion, we are looking for a Leading Hand Mechanical Fitter for a full time, permanent workshop based position in Newcastle.
The successful candidate will be confident in driving successful outcomes of their team including daily pre-starts and safety interactions, and have a familiarity with fixed plant overhauls.

What's involved?
60% on the tools give or take
Overhauls of fixed plant, including but not limited to pumps, screens and valves
Strip, assess and rebuild projects in a large, workshop team environment
Use of precision measuring equipment including micrometers
Manage jobs for the Mechanical Team
Quality Assurance
Pre starts and safety interactions
Data Entry
Training and Supervising
What we're looking for:
Familiarity with fixed plant overhaul projects
Confident in driving successful outcomes for the team
Mechanical Trade Qualification
Forklift ticket
Previous experience in a similar role highly regarded
Dogging and First Aid preferred
Able to follow and learn technical procedures on the job
Able to pass a pre employment medical
Great references to support your application
