THE POSITION: This position is within the Engineering Assessment Branch of Council's City Development and Compliance Group and provides professional engineering input into the Development Approvals process. Analysis of DA's, CC's with respect to drainage, flooding and traffic, ensuring they meet Council's Codes and policies as well as the implementation of Council's Stormwater Management Policy is required to be undertaken as part of this position.
The Development Engineer provides advice and recommendations to Managers, Coordinators, and other employees on complex technical matters. The position also provides advice to developers and/or applicants on Council's policies and procedures and discuss and explain development projects to interested or affected residents.
The Development Engineer is required to prepare engineering conditions for new developments and assist in the formulation of new standard conditions, as well as undertaking the assessment and processing of development and modification applications against the relevant planning
