Our client The Trustee for Sharma Family Trust t/a Kebabiya is a renowned culinary destination in Bella Vista and Dural, celebrated for our exquisite kebabs prepared with locally sourced ingredients. The menu features a variety of marinades that bring out the rich flavors in the dishes. Signature dishes such as Barrah Kabab, Dahi ke Kabab, and Bharwan Sabz Tandoori are just a few highlights of Kebabiya offering. All kebabs are accompanied by delicate paper-thin rumali roti, special chutneys, and lachha onion rings. For larger gatherings, Kebabiya offers a bespoke menu including traditional entrées, mains, and desserts.
The client is looking to fill full time positions for qualified and skilled Chef. As a Chef at Kebabiya, you will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting a variety of kebabs and traditional dishes to the highest standards. You will work closely with our kitchen team to ensure that all meals are prepared with the freshest locally sourced ingredients and maintain the consistency of signature dishes. You will also be tasked with creating new and innovative recipes that enhance Kebabiya menu offerings.
In addition to cooking, you will oversee kitchen operations, ensuring that hygiene and food safety standards are strictly adhered to. You will manage kitchen inventory, order supplies, and liaise with local suppliers to source the best ingredients. Your role will also involve training and mentoring junior kitchen staff, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment, and ensuring that all equipment is properly maintained and used efficiently.
To be successful in this position, you will need to have relevant 2 years’ work experience and trade qualifications, you must have a genuine interest in the hospitality industry. The successful applicant must comply with all WHS, Food Safety and HACCP requirements.
Qualifications and experience
• be qualified in hospitality with AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2) with at least 2 years full-time experience as a Chef
In this role your main responsibilities include:
• Overall management of kitchen production to achieve consistency and deliver exceptional products and service
• Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies
• Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
• Prepare and cook a variety of kebabs and other dishes according to Kebabiya’s recipes and standards.
• Ensure the use of locally sourced ingredients in all preparations.
• Maintain the quality, taste, and presentation of all dishes.
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to create new and innovative recipes.
• Uphold the highest standards of hygiene and food safety.
• Manage kitchen inventory and liaise with suppliers for fresh ingredients.
• Modify menus or create new ones that meet quality standards
• Assisting in the efficient running of kitchen operations
• Delivering outstanding food in taste and presentation
• Ensure all kitchen staff understood expectations and parameters of kitchen goals and daily kitchen work
• Ensure meals are produced on time, and sufficient quantities are available, as well as
ensuring appealing plate presentation
• Maintain updated knowledge of local competition and restaurant industry trends
