Vawdrey Australia is the nation’s leading manufacturer of quality semi-trailers and associated transport
equipment. Established in 1974, Vawdrey began building truck bodies for smaller companies and owner
drivers. In addition, we provide sales, service and repair functions across Australia. As Australia's largest
trailer builder, Vawdrey aims to consistently improve the standard of design and quality within the country's
trailer building industry.
Reporting to the Finish Shop Supervisor and based at our Trailer Manufacturing facility in Dandenong South,
the Auto Electrician plays pivotal role in Manufacturing of our trailers. The Automotive Electrician is
responsible for installing, maintaining, identifying faults and repairing electrical wiring and computer-based
equipment in trailers.
Main Duties
•Using hand tools and specialised electrical tools, instruments and machines, including drills, grinders,
presses and lathes;
• Connecting and installing “Plug and Play” wiring;
• Repairing or replacing electrical wiring, fuses, lamps and switches;
• Using meters, test instruments, and circuit diagrams to find electrical faults;
• Working with computer-controlled engine management systems;
• Servicing, identifying and repairing faults on electronically controlled vehicle systems;
• Installing and wiring brake and indicator lights on trailers;
• Removing and installing electrical components.
Qualifications
•Trade Qualifications and/or Certifications in Automotive Electrical Technology or extensive experience
and understanding of Auto Electrical Systems.
Experience
• Demonstrable experience wokring in a similar role in the Auto Manufacturing sector.
Skills
• Flexible and cooperative team attitude;
• Good eyesight and colour vision;
• Good hand-eye coordination;
• Enjoy practical and manual work
Annual Salary
$74,000 - $80,000
