InTech Institute of Technology is currently searching for an experienced fabricator and welder who can assist us with training and supervision of our students and apprentices who are studying our engineering trade courses.
This role may be ideal for someone who is semi-retired or an ex-army personnel.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Deliver practical welding/fabrication and machining skills
- Deliver training to our partner high school in Narangba
- Deliver practical training to our full-time students onsite in Milton campus
- Collect learner practical evidence
- Assist with trainee/apprentice site visits around QLD
- Assist with Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) evidence gathering process
The applicant should have skills in the following areas:
- Welding – Manual Metal Arc (Stick), Gas Metal Arc (MIG), Tungsten (TIG)
- Fabrication – Cutting, marking out, geometric development, forming and shaping techniques
- Machining – Grinding, lathe work, milling work, bending, machine setting
- Hand and power tools
- Drawings – Interpret and produce basic drawings
- Basic calculations and measurement
Essential Skills/Qualifications:
- Ideally hold a Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade or higher or have significant experience in the industry. (Note that upskilling can be done for the right candidate)
- Good numeracy, literacy and computer skills, effective English communication Skills – oral and in writing
- Compliant with WH&S regulations and procedures
This is a full-time position and requires immediate start.
- The role requires travel to training delivery sites: Narangba
- Must hold a valid drivers licence.
- Must hold Blue Card or be willing to obtain one.
- Pay rates are negotiable depending on experience and expertise.
