Peter Ellsmore & Associates is a Wollongong based engineering and drafting consultancy that provides services to a variety of clients in the industrial, mining and construction industries across the Illawarra region and beyond.
An opportunity exists to join our electrical team supporting clients with capital and maintenance activities. This position is open to existing designers, or suitably experienced electricians willing to step up into a designer and drafting role.
To succeed in this position, you will need;
• Electrical Trade, Diploma or similar relevant technical qualification necessary.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience, preferred in heavy/resources industry
• Sound understanding &/or design experience with:
1. PLC, Instrumentation & Process Control Systems
2. Motor Control Systems
• Sound knowledge of electrical standards
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics
• Ability to audit, fault find or confirm complete electrical systems on site.
• Ability to work within a small team
• Excellent communication skills
• Attention to detail, and ability to understand and implement complex design changes to electrical systems
Desirable Skills:
• AutoCAD experience (or a desire and ability to learn)
• Medium & High voltage distribution network experience an advantage
• Estimating, budgeting and costing skills
• On-Site Equipment commissioning and testing
