Task & Responsibilities The Plumber reports directly to the Site Supervisor or Construction Manager and works closely with other tradespeople on the construction site. Installation and Repair: Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, including water supply, drainage, and gas systems. Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to plan plumbing system layouts and installations. Pipework: Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to required angles, using hand and power tools or machines. Fixture Installation: Install plumbing fixtures such as sinks, toilets, bathtubs, and water heaters. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve plumbing issues, ensuring all work complies with relevant codes and standards. Safety Practices: Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work environment. System Testing: Inspect and test plumbing systems for leaks and other problems using pressure gauges and other equipment. Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on plumbing systems to prevent issues and ensure optimal performance. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other construction professionals, including electricians, carpenters, and builders. Customer Interaction: Communicate effectively with clients to explain plumbing issues and solutions Qualification & Experience Experience in residential and/or commercial plumbing. Additional certifications or specializations in specific plumbing techniques or systems. Proven experience as a Plumber, with a strong portfolio of completed projects. Relevant trade qualification (e.g., Certificate III in Plumbing). Proficient in using hand and power tools specific to the plumbing trade. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications. Strong understanding of plumbing systems, materials, and regulations. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Good physical condition and stamina. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. White Card (General Construction Induction Card).
