Salary Range (AUD): $73,000 - $100,000
Rowlands Surveys is an established land surveying consultancy servicing North QLD since 1981 from our office in Townsville. We are currently seeking qualified Surveyors to join our team.
About the role
In this role you will undertake a wide variety of survey work utilising the latest technology.
Duties include (but are not limited to):
• survey of existing topography and structures on the earth’s surface, whether above or below water, for design and development to take place, and preparation of drawings and digital data
• maintain continuing professional development on latest survey technologies and government policies
• surveys of boundaries for definition of existing boundaries and creation of new boundaries for new titles and other interests in land
• planning and designing land development projects and working with affiliated consultants and government authorities toward acceptable outcomes and approved developments
• provide technical survey advice to clients, statutory authorities and relevant professionals
• survey and preparation of plans and reports required for dispute resolution, conveyancing and land ownership matters
• compiling and evaluating data, interpreting legislation and codes of practice, and writing reports concerning survey measurement, land use and tenure
• use of geographic Information systems and preparation of data sets and maps for other users, by the analysis and interpretation of surveyed and existing data
• install and coordinate survey control networks, on coordinate systems suitable to the project
• surveys for construction including interpretation of design plans, office calculations and setout
• creation of machine control files and interrogation of supplied data
• supervision and management of survey technicians as required
Skills and Qualifications required
• Completed a Bachelors or Associate Degree in Surveying
• Ability to be registered with Surveyors Board of Queensland as an Associate Surveyor or Graduate with a view to registration as a Surveyor.
• Minimum of 3 years recent experience in a similar role
• Operating knowledge of Trimble Survey equipment
• Experience using 12D, Magnet, TBC, AutoCAD will be highly regarded
• Manual drivers licence

• Base salary of $73,000 to $100,000 (37.5 hour week) plus additional paid overtime
