Salary: $150,000 plus 11% superannuation
Our client The Ramps Ridge Services Pty Ltd conducts farming business, sheep, beef and other seasonal agriculture production and covers approximately 3547 ha predominantly dedicated to cotton. The client is nationally accredited from the National Feedlot Assurance quality system and approved for all major markets in the world.
As Ramps Ridge Services continue to integrate advanced technology into its operations, they are seeking a skilled Computer Network and System Engineer to join their team and support the growing IT infrastructure.
As a Computer Network and System Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the computer networks and systems that support the farming operations. Your expertise will ensure that the IT infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently, enhancing the overall productivity and security of farming business.
Qualification and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in IT with at least 2 years’ experience in similar role. At least five years of relevant experience and/or relevant vendor certification may substitute for the formal qualification.
• Proven experience as a Computer Network and System Engineer, preferably in an agricultural or similar setting.
• Experience with IT systems used in farming or agricultural operations.
Your main responsibilities will be:
• Design, install, and maintain computer networks, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and wireless networks.
• Ensure the stability, performance, and security of network infrastructure.
• Manage and monitor network and system performance, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
• Installing, configuring, testing, maintaining and administering new and upgraded networks, software database applications, servers and workstations
• Ensuring overall operational readiness of network systems
• Implement and manage security measures to protect against cyber threats.
• Configure and maintain servers, routers, switches, and other network devices.
• Provide technical support and training to staff on IT-related issues.
• Develop and implement disaster recovery and backup procedures.
• Collaborate with other team members to plan and execute IT projects that enhance farming operations.
• Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, procedures, and IT inventory.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve our IT systems.
In order to be considered for this role, you must have:
• Strong knowledge of network infrastructure, protocols, and security.
• Experience with network and server management, including virtualization technologies.
• Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Familiarity with cloud computing and remote management tools.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff.
