The Ramps Ridge Services is seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver to join its team and support logistics and transportation needs. The Ramps Ridge Services pride on producing high-quality agricultural products and ensuring they reach the clients safely and promptly. As a Truck Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of goods, equipment, and livestock between the farming operations and various destinations. Your role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation and success of the farming business.
Requirements:
• AQF Certificate II or III with at least two years of relevant experience
• Proven experience as a Truck Driver, preferably in a farming or agricultural setting.
• Valid truck driving license (HR, HC, or MC class) and a clean driving record.
• Familiarity with GPS and other navigation tools.
Key responsibilities are set out below:
• Transport goods, equipment, and livestock safely and efficiently.
• Load and unload cargo, ensuring it is secure and protected during transit.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Coordinate with farm managers and other staff to plan and execute transportation schedules.
• Monitor and report any vehicle maintenance or repair needs.
• Assist with the maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment as needed.
• Ensure compliance with biosecurity measures when transporting livestock.
• Handle livestock with care and ensure their welfare during transport.
• Operate various types of trucks and trailers, including flatbeds and livestock trailers.
• Manage and document the handling and storage of hazardous materials, if applicable.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and other team members.
• Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of the truck and related equipment.
Ideal candidate will have:
• Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws.
• Experience in transporting livestock and familiarity with biosecurity protocols.
• Ability to operate and maintain various types of trucks and trailers.
• Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Physical stamina to perform tasks that may require lifting, bending, and working in various weather conditions.
• Basic mechanical skills for minor vehicle repairs and maintenance.
