Based on qualifications and level of experience under the Social Community Home Care and Disability Services (SCHADS) Award 2010.

Probationary Period:

The appointment is subject to the satisfactory completion of an initial three-month probation period.

About us:

Central West Women’s Health Centre is a community-based charity run by women for women. We are a dynamic organisation dedicated to assisting children, young people and their families recovering from trauma. Our approach is centred on evidence-based, and trauma informed therapeutic counselling, utilising a range of age-appropriate techniques in a supportive environment.

Being a woman is a genuine requirement for this position, as per exemption granted under Section 126A of the Anti-Discrimination Act (1977).

Terms and conditions in accordance with the SCHADs award negotiated based on qualification and experience.

The Position:

Central West Women’s Health Centre, Bathurst, is seeking a Psychotherapist Children and Young people with a minimum of three years demonstrated counselling and group facilitation experience to join our team.

Role and responsibilities:

Provide trauma-informed therapeutic counselling and support to children, young people, and their families.
Implement age-appropriate techniques and tools in individual and group settings.
Advocate and facilitate referrals to relevant support services as required.
Consulting with other professionals on details of cases and treatment plans.
Developing, administering and evaluating individual and group treatment programs.
Skills and experience:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual with the following qualifications and attributes:

Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Counselling, or a relevant field.
Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in an equivalent or similar role.
Demonstrated expertise in supporting individuals with complex needs (e.g. challenging behaviours, homelessness or domestic violence, mental health).
Strong communication skills and a person-centred approach.
Team player and a willingness to share knowledge effectively with team members.
Requirements

Current Driver’s license.
National Police check.
Evidence of full COVID-19 Vaccination
Fulfil the registration requirements with either the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) or the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA)
