Qualified Gardener (Full-time)

Base salary: $75,000 plus superannuation
We are a garden maintenance and soft landscaping business with our key focus being providing excellent quality service at an affordable price to our customers.
We are looking for a motivated, reliable and punctual person, who has the ability to be a flexible member of the team. You should be a skilled Gardener with at least 3 years of experience in the role, have a formal qualification in Horticulture and have the ability to work both individually as well as in a team environment while ensuring workplace safety guidelines are adhered to. You should hold a White Card as well as ideally have undertaken Pesticide and Weed spraying training as part of your education.
The main responsibilities and focus for this role will be greenery cultivation, garden maintenance and care for existing gardens and green strips/ park areas for our clients. As our business continues to grow, the skilled Gardener will need to deliver quality work in a timely and efficient manner to a high volume of clients. The right person will also be able to apply their technical skills as a qualified gardener to ensure the health and wellbeing for/of the plants and grassed areas for which we have contractual obligations with our clients to maintain/ are maintained.
Job Duties include:
• Discussing with clients the different varieties of grass available and the benefits and care needs of each;
• Preparing soil bed for laying turf, planting flowers, hedges, trees and shrubs;
• Maintaining planted and grassed areas by weeding, trimming, fertilising, watering and mowing as per the agreed service schedule for each client;
• Pruning trees and hedges, and installing plant support and protection devices;
• Preparing and maintaining seedbeds and growing sites;
• Spraying and dusting plants and trees to control insects and disease;
• Operation of mowers, brush cutters, edgers and hedgers.
Skills and Experience:
Candidates with extensive experience in Gardening and who are formally qualified with at least a Certificate IV in Horticulture will be given preference. Candidates who have a proven ability to operate industry related equipment (such as lawn mowers, whipper snippers, hedge trimmers etc) will be desirable.
