As Senior Accountant this is a hands-on role where you are responsible for generating and ensuring timely and accurate reporting of the P&L and balance sheet. You are responsible to ensure the books are complete, accurate and according to local and group policies while supporting the Accounting manager guarantee tax and other compliance matters are secured. You will be responsible for working with stakeholders (e.g., store teams, IT, Security) to identify and implement process improvements which will require strong communication skills and the ability to document processes and keep things simple.
Key responsibilities:
- Carry out month-end, quarter-end and year-end routines including external audit and statutory financial reporting
- Initiate and/or review General ledger bookings relating to revenue reconciliations, stock bookings, intercompany transactions, bank and cash flow reconciliations and other balance sheet reconciliations
- Accounts Payable liaison with centralised team and manage employee reimbursement claims/payment
- Apply accounting standards and prepare accounting treatment papers to a high standard, for example carry out routines for IFRS16 lease accounting
- Assist with tax compliance tasks
- Assist Accounting Manager for ad hoc reconciliations and reporting tasks
- Identify and implement process improvement opportunities with store teams and other functions (e.g. IT, Security)
- Collaborate with stakeholders to secure accounting routines
- Coach accountants and centralised accounting support teams to develop and streamline processes
