The Opportunity
Come and discover the opportunity to join the HCPD (Hot Coil Processing & Despatch) team at our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility as a as a Coil Plate Line (CPL) Team Leader. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.
Manufacturing the premium branded product TRU-SPEC® steel, the two coil plate lines are a key asset in the Hot Mills business. In this pivotal role, you will be the key point of contact for the shift operations in meeting the on-time delivery and quality needs of our customers. A self-motivated, quick thinker, you quickly adapt and can juggle more than one task at any given time. You also enjoy keeping busy and working in a supportive team environment. You’ll manage the team’s success through their performance and productivity to ensure our business plan objectives and targets are continually met.
This role works on a 5-day x 12-hour day/night-shift roster. When you join our team, we also offer access to our Employee Assistance provider and other health and well-being programs.
What Will You Do?
You will demonstrate your leadership skills and be responsible for:
- leading the shift operations team to achieve business targets and ensure operations are within standards
- supervising and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, performance and mitigate risk - striving for on time delivery for our customers
- supervising the operational activities and striving for business improvements and manufacturing excellence
- growing and mentoring your team to develop and enhance their performance and capability
