What you’ll do:
We are seeking an experienced, passionate and innovative Head Chef to join our team at Freycinet Lodge in this full-time role. You'll use your experience and creativity to build the identity of our venues from collaborative menu development, through to hiring, onboarding and developing your kitchen team. On a daily basis you will:
- Ensure and partake in the smooth running of kitchen operations to deliver a high standard of dining to our guests
- Maintain administrative tasks such as time and attendance and invoicing
- Communicate effectively and collaborate with other Department Heads
What you’ll bring:
- Extensive hands-on experience in kitchen operations with a clear understanding of the logistics of restaurants and functions catering
- Demonstrated experience in innovative menu planning and design, and producing and presenting food in line with current trends with a concern for competing against a standard of excellence
- Experience in controlling daily food costs and setting and meeting budgets
- Demonstrated excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong leadership and mentoring experience
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
