Job summary
We are looking for a cook/chef to be responsible for preparation, cooking and presenting food in a professional manner
Responsibilities and duties
This role involves managing the kitchen staff, maintaining high standards of food quality and hygiene and ensuing smooth kitchen operations
The cook/chef will maintain controlled food cost while maintaining consistency and excellent food quality & presentation
1. Prepare and cook food items to standard required
2. Maintain spending to the required target or under the target
3. Manage kitchen staff, including training and communication
4. Ensure all kitchen operations are complied with to shop standards and health & safety regulations
5. Monitor food inventory and order supplies as needed
6. Control and minimize food waste and operational costs
7. Communicate with management to plan special menu
8. Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and food storage areas
9. Stay updated with culinary trends and continuously improve cooking techniques
Qualifications, experience and skills
1. Proven experience as a cook/chef or similar role in a professional kitchen
2. Culinary qualification or equivalent professional training
3. Excellent leadership and communications skills
4. Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and kitchen equipment
5. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure
6. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
