United Support Services is a professional and unique organisation specialising in supporting a group of people with a disability and high care requirements for a peaceful and meaningful life. We aim to allow people with disabilities / special needs between 0-65 years of age to live a more ordinary life and achieve personal goals while receiving quality and flexible care entirely funded by the government.
We are currently looking for a dedicated residential care officer to work closely with our support and care workers to provide positive and meaningful experiences for every one of our clients.
Roles and responsibilities include:
• Supervise and direct care workers providing services to clients and patients.
• Work with care workers and our support coordination team to offer accommodation, nursing care, education, community participation, and assistance with personal activities and travel/transportation for children and disabled clients and patients.
• Monitor clients’ progress and provide reports.
• Mentor support workers and provide ongoing training and development for a high standard of care.
• Conduct interviews with clients to assess the extent and nature of their difficulties.
• Evaluate clients' needs and assist them in planning for and accessing education and training programs and any additional health, welfare, or support options.
• Facilitate personal growth, including awareness of appropriate health, hygiene, personal development, self-esteem, etc.
• Refer clients to additional support agencies as needed.
• Work with individuals, families, groups and communities.

Skills and Qualifications:
• Minimum qualification of AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2) or at least 3 years of relevant experience in a related field.
• Ability to manage challenging and complex behaviour.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding the client’s information and history.
Experience:
• 2 years minimum experience as a Residential Care Officer or in a related field.

• $74,000 – $100,000 per annum, plus superannuation
